TIMco In-Dex timber screws are designed as an alternative to the traditional coach screw and can be used for decking, stairs, fencing, roofing, and landscaping. The wafer head provides extra pull-down power compared to the standard hexagon head In-Dex screws, which makes these screws particularly effective for screwing warped timbers together, or fixing timber sleepers. The 25° sharp point with type 17 slash helps to reduce insertion torque and the likelihood of the timber splitting when the screw is inserted close to the edge.
PLEASE NOTE: A2 stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance but it is much softer than carbon steel. A pilot drill is essential for use in hard woods such as oak, and we would recommend using one in all materials as best practice.

The Technical Stuff
TIMco In-Dex screw has performed initial type testing under system 3, Annex V of the regulation (EU) no. 305/2011 (Construction Products Regulation), with the reference to the harmonised European standard (hEN) BS EN 14592:2008+A1:2012 (Timber structures - Dowel type fasteners - Requirements) for nails intended for the use in “load bearing timber structures”.
This means that TIMco In-Dex screws are fully tested and approved to be used in structural timber applications, replacing a traditional coach screw/coach bolt which are more expensive and time consuming to fit.
