A range of castellated nuts, also commonly knows as castle nuts or slotted nuts, in metric and imperial threads. Castle nuts are a traditional type of locking nut, that is popular in critical applications. The nut has vertical slots cut all the way around the top of the nut, which then have a split cotter pin pushed through one side of the nut, though a hole in the fastener, and then through a slot on the opposite side of the nut.
