The 4 x 30mm A2 stainless steel PZ2 countersunk chipboard screw is designed for fastening chipboard, MDF, softwood and other engineered timber products. Its fully threaded shank provides consistent engagement through the fixing, while the countersunk head seats flush with the material surface.
Manufactured from A2 stainless steel, the screw provides corrosion resistance for indoor joinery and general external applications away from marine or highly corrosive environments. The PZ2 Pozidriv recess should be installed with a correctly fitting driver bit.
A chipboard screw is a threaded fixing developed for board materials and timber. The thread engages with the substrate to provide holding power, while the countersunk head is designed to finish level with the surface when correctly installed.

Selection note: Confirm that the screw length is suitable for the combined material thickness and will not break through the rear surface. These screws should not be treated as structural timber fixings unless supported by appropriate load data and approval.
What does PZ2 mean?
PZ2 identifies the size of the Pozidriv recess in the screw head. Use a correctly fitting PZ2 bit to reduce movement between the bit and recess during installation.
Do these screws require pilot holes?
Pilot holes are not normally required in many chipboard and softwood applications. Pre-drilling may be advisable in dense timber, MDF, thin sections or close to an edge to reduce splitting, breakout or surface damage.
Will the head finish flush with the surface?
The countersunk head is designed to finish level with the surface. The final result depends on the density and condition of the substrate. A prepared countersink may be required in hard or brittle materials.
Are A2 stainless screws suitable for outdoor use?
A2 stainless steel is suitable for many general external applications. A4 stainless steel should normally be considered for coastal, marine, swimming-pool or other chloride-rich environments.
Can these screws be used for structural timber connections?
These are general-purpose board and timber screws. They should not be specified for load-bearing structural connections without suitable approval and verified design data.
