The HECO-TOPIX-plus 6 x 70mm Flange Head Screw is a high-performance structural timber screw designed for efficient and reliable fixing in wood construction applications. Its enlarged flange head provides a greater clamping surface for improved load transmission, while the T30 Torx drive allows positive engagement and efficient installation.
The HECO-TOPIX-plus design incorporates the patented HECO-TOPIX tip to reduce the risk of timber splitting and allow narrow edge and centre distances. Its optimised thread geometry supports fast installation, while the shank ribs help reduce driving torque for a smoother installation. The screw is manufactured from carbon steel with a bright zinc plated A3K finish and is suitable for a wide range of professional timber construction applications.
The HECO-TOPIX-plus Flange Head Screw is a structural timber screw designed to provide efficient, high-performance fixing in wood construction. Its enlarged flange head increases the clamping surface, helping to improve load transmission while reducing the number of fastening points required in some applications.
Key features include:
HECO-TOPIX-plus Flange Head Screws are designed for a wide range of professional timber construction and woodworking applications where reliable structural fixing and efficient load transmission are required.
Typical applications include:
The appropriate screw diameter and length should be selected according to the timber species, connection design, required penetration and expected loads.
For structural applications, the appropriate HECO technical documentation and project or construction specification should be followed. Always confirm the required dimensions, material grade and performance requirements for the intended application.
Technical documents:
What drive bit does the HECO-TOPIX-plus 6 x 70mm screw use?
This screw uses a T30 Torx drive. A suitable T30 bit should be used during installation to provide positive engagement and effective torque transfer.
What is the HECO-TOPIX-plus 6 x 70mm screw used for?
The screw is designed for structural timber construction and woodworking applications, including timber-to-timber connections, timber framing and general wood construction.
Does the HECO-TOPIX-plus tip require pre-drilling?
The patented HECO-TOPIX tip is designed to reduce the need for pre-drilling in many timber applications while helping to reduce the risk of splitting. The appropriate installation method should always take account of the timber species, screw position and project requirements.
What is the benefit of the flange head?
The enlarged flange head provides a greater clamping surface than a conventional screw head, helping to increase load transmission and provide a secure connection between timber components.
What is the HECO-TOPIX-plus MagicClose feature?
MagicClose is a patented full-thread system designed to pull timber fixtures together without gaps and without pre-stressing in applicable screw diameters. The system is particularly useful where a tight timber-to-timber connection is required.
What does PerfectPitch mean?
PerfectPitch refers to the optimised thread pitch used for different screw lengths. The design is intended to provide efficient installation and reliable performance across a range of timber applications.
