Carpenters Mate Pro Bolzen Timber to Steel H/D Tek Screws 175mm (Pack of 25)

Carpenters Mate Pro Bolzen screws are heavy-duty fixings designed for direct timber-to-steel connections. The self-drilling and self-tapping design allows the screw to drill through the timber and steel substrate before forming its own thread within the metal.

The specialist drill point is designed to penetrate steel up to 12mm thick. The part-threaded shank and self-countersinking head are designed to pull the timber securely against the steel.

Key features:

• Self-drilling point: Designed to drill directly through steel without separate pre-drilling where the steel is within the stated capacity.
• 12mm steel capacity: Designed for drilling through steel sections up to 12mm thick.
• Self-tapping thread: Forms its own thread within the steel substrate.
• Self-countersinking head: Designed to seat into the timber for a flush finish.
• Torx drive: Provides positive engagement during installation.
• 5.5mm diameter: Provides a substantial fixing diameter.
• Part-threaded design: Allows the timber to be drawn towards the steel substrate.
• Steel construction: Manufactured from steel.
• Multi-layer protective coating: Provides a durable surface finish.
• Baked ceramic top coat: Provides additional corrosion and wear protection.

Carpenters Mate Pro Bolzen screws are designed for applications where timber needs to be fixed directly to steel without a separate nut and bolt assembly or pre-drilled fixing hole.

Typical applications include:

• Timber-to-steel connections
• Timber framing
• Roofing and structural timber work
• Loft conversions and structural alterations
• Fixing timber members to steel sections
• General construction applications involving timber and steel
• Joinery and fabrication applications requiring direct wood-to-metal fixing

The 175mm length is suitable where greater fixing depth is required through the timber before engaging with the steel substrate.

Usage note: Check the combined timber and steel thicknesses before installation to ensure the selected screw length provides the required engagement.
